About
I design and build heirloom quality, solid wood furniture, cabinetry and architectural millwork in my southern California workshop. I work with sustainably sourced materials, such as lumber from salvage trees, and use natural, zero VOC finishes.
As wood is an organic material, there will always be variations in grain, tone and features. EACH PIECE IS ONE OF A KIND. Photos on this site are representative of what you will receive, but not identical. lumber varies significantly in appearance between species, and THERE WILL BE VARIANCE even within a single species. wood will naturally change in color over the years, either darkening or lightening depending upon proximity and exposure to sunlight. Some change in tone is normal and unavoidable, though it tends to be subtle. wood naturally expands and contracts with seasonal changes in temperature and humidity. through careful lumber selection, milling and joinery techniques, My work is made to accommodate normal seasonal changes and with proper care, can withstand generations of use.
Dimensions are generally accurate, but as these are handcrafted items, there may be slight variance in any dimension. There may be minor imperfections or flaws characteristic of handcrafted work. I’m happy to discuss details of your project, it’s design, dimensions, materials and finish with you prior to construction.
